Matthew Couvillon


Matthew Couvillon has worked as Associate Choreographer to Broadway Director/Choreographers Bob Avian and Baayork Lee. Productions include A Chorus Line (NY City Center, Hollywood Bowl, US National Tour, Tokyo, Austria), ShowStoppers (Wynn Las Vegas), One Singular Sensation (The Public Theatre), as well as numerous other shows. As an independent choreographer, he has choreographed Das Land des Lachelns and Gypsy at the Stadtheatre in Klagenfurt, Austria. He has also choreographed regional productions of West Side Story, Newsies, La Cage Aux Folles, A Chorus Line and has directed and choreographed Life Could Be A Dream. As a performer Couvillon has worked both Nationally and Internationally in West Side Story (West End, European Tour) and A Chorus Line (US National Tour, Tokyo). Other credits include: Cats, The Pajama Game, Brigadoon. Couvillon has a BFA in dance from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and has also trained at The School at Jacob’s Pillow where his focus was Jazz Technique.
