About

Kenneth (Kenny) Finkle’s plays have been produced all around the country including Alive and Well, which premiered at the Old Globe and Indoor/Outdoor, which played Off-Bway and has had over 50 productions worldwide. His adaptation of The Dark Forest toured throughout China in 2019/20. He has received commissions from The Dallas Theatre Center, the Ford’s Theatre, Virginia Stage Company, Theatreworks USA, the Hangar Theatre among others and is the recipient of fellowships and grants from NYFA and NYSCA and most recently an NEA New Play Development Award through the Keen Company. His non-traditional theatrical work includes his graphic novel musical for intimate audiences U R , which was developed and produced at the American Repertory Theatre, The Orchard Project and Ars Nova. His 8-part audio opus 1993 was released in Fall 2020 by the Keen Company as part of their Hear/Now Season.  Both 1993 and his pop culture podcast All I Want to Do is Talk About Madonna can be found on all platforms that support podcasts. His plays are published by Broadway Play Publishing, Samuel French and Smith and Krauss. 

Kenny received his MFA from Columbia University’s Playwriting program and his BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.  Prior to his appointment, he was an Adjunct Instructor of Theatre at MMC for seven years. In addition he worked as a Teaching Artist for the DreamYard Project for two decades and served as Master Playwright for Miami Dade’s Playwright Development Program for two terms.
