Briefly describe how you would contribute to implementing the goals of the Theatre Arts Student Council.
I love MMC and the opportunities that are provided for students to have a voice in their education. I want to work in close liaison with my peers and the powers that be to fight for a better future for everyone. I would be in close communication with as many students as possible to capture the essence of the Theatre Arts department. I will gather the ideas and eagerly report back to the faculty to start the negotiation process of what can be done to fix the systemic issues. I am not afraid to speak up for others and myself. I will do what it takes to make sure the voices of my peers are heard and understood.
Briefly describe your relevant past experience that would support your work as a representative on the Theatre Arts Student Council.
I have been working on my leadership skills every year at MMC. I started my freshman year as a member of the Emerging Leaders program. This program gave me the skills to understand my leadership style and how I can best interact with a diverse group of people in order to efficiently get tasks done. Last year, I was an RA at the Cooper Square dorm. This job taught me how to handle a position of authority while also being relatable and trustworthy to my peers.
