Musical Theatre and Acting

An actor, director, choreographer, and educator, performing Broadway credits include Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, Lincoln Center’s Twelfth Night, Man of La Mancha, Paul Simon’s The Capeman, Fosse, and On Your Feet. New York’s Public Theater credits include Oedipus El Rey, Antony and Cleopatra, Henry VIII, Pericles, Much Ado About Nothing, Mother Courage and Her Children, and Hamlet. He also starred in Quiara Alegría’s Miss You Like Hell, Victoria Thiérrée Chaplin’s L’Oratorio D’Aurelia and in Michael John LaChiusa’s Los Otros. Monge represents the Jerome Robbins Estate and Trust recreating Robbins’ original West Side Story choreography. Productions include Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour (Helpmann Award for Best Direction and Best Choreography nomination 2018), Tokyo’s TBS in Stage Around, and Lyric Opera of Chicago, among others. He recently collaborated with Tony Kushner and Steven Spielberg as a translator and artistic consultant for their upcoming film remake of West Side Story, to be released on December 2020.
