Matthew Deming (voice teacher)

Matthew Deming was in the world premiere of Bel Canto at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, by Jimmy López (composer) and Nilo Cruz (librettist). Recently, Matthew has performed a new concert version of Chicago the Musical, conducted by Rob Fisher, with the Dallas Symphony and the Kansas City Symphony, playing both roles of Amos and Mary Sunshine in the same night! He has performed with leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, American Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and Los Angeles Philharmonic, Musica Sacra, The Collegiate Chorale, Bard Music Festival, Berkshire Chorale Festival, Mostly Mozart Festival, St. Ignatius Loyola, and the NY Virtuoso Singers. He has been featured on Broadway in Kander and Ebb’s The Visit, as Louis Perch, one of the legendary Chita Rivera’s sidekick eunuchs, as well as in the Broadway production Chicago, portraying Mary Sunshine. Regional theater where he has performed include the Cincinnati Playhouse, Huntington Theater Company, Trinity Repertory Company, Williamstown Theater Festival, and Signature Theater Company. www.mattdeming.com
