About

Michael Mendez is a New York City based actor, director and educator.  He recently was seen in the world premiere musical of Water For Elephants at The Alliance Theatre, and will be continuing with Water For Elephants on Broadway this spring at The Imperial Theatre. He also appeared in the Broadway Production of Chaplin, directed by Warren Carlyle, and is featured on the Original Broadway Cast Recording. NY Credits: Hey, Look Me Over! at City Center Encores! featuring Joel Grey, Vanessa Williams, and Bebe Neuwirth & Fat Camp the Musical (Off-Broadway). Some Regional Credits Include: Shrek at Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre, Man of La Mancha at Westport Country Playhouse, How The Grinch Stole Christmas at The Old Globe, Damn Yankees at Goodspeed Opera House, Peter and the Starcatcher at Weston Playhouse, Billy Elliot at North Carolina Theatre, The Full Monty at American Music Theater of San Jose, and Paquito’s Christmas at the Kennedy Center.  Michael graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.F.A in Musical Theatre, and received his M.F.A in Directing from the University of Idaho.  As an educator, Michael has taught for The New York Conservatory For Dramatic Arts, Rider University, and Actor Therapy.
