Deanna Twain

Deanna Twain has been teaching American Sign Language and Academic Writing at Marymount Manhattan College since 2000 and the summer HEOP writing course at Marymount for eight years. She has been tutoring writing and ASL in CAST for many years. Deanna studied American Sign Language at the New York Society for the Deaf and then proceeded into the NYSD’s interpreter training program which culminated with her Certfication as a Sign Language Interpreter. She worked in the field as an interpreter in medical, legal and personal situations. At Marymount she has designed two levels of ASL study and for graduates of those courses she can organize and oversee three credit internships within the Deaf community. A former actress, she worked with her late husband, producer Norman Twain, developing film scripts and plays and working with the writers on those projects.
