About

Matthew Finn is a design educator, practicing artist and freelance graphic designer. Prof. Finn received his MFA in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2010. Before joining the Art Department at Marymount Manhattan College, Prof. Finn previously taught at the University of North Florida, St. Thomas Aquinas College and William Paterson University. Prior to teaching, Prof. Finn started his design career after receiving his BFA in Graphic Design from Western Michigan University in 1999. For over 10 years he worked as a graphic designer, lead corporate designer and art director in a variety of professional settings in Michigan, Washington D.C., Georgia and New York. His design experiences have encompassed print, web and interactive environments. Prof. Finn’s clients ranged from non-profit organizations to major for-profit organizations such as Feeding America, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, USPS, United States Chamber of Commerce, The Home Depot, Kraft Foods, Comcast, Pfizer and many others. Prof. Finn maintains his freelance practice and also designs for multiple environmental non-profits. Prof. Finn continues his research into sustainable design practices, actively exhibits his art and design work and is a published writer.
