Sindy Folgar (she/her) is a dancer, educator, choreographer, curriculum writer, arts administrator, and advocate. She is the BE BOLD Program Director at the Misty Copeland Foundation, as well as the Senior Director of Programs and Partnerships at Dancewave, and Adjunct Faculty at Marymount Manhattan College. Passionate about student-driven practices, and the importance of nurturing creativity and community engagement, her personal mission is to ensure that anyone with limited resources has access to dance.
She is a native of Quiriguá, Guatemala, and holds a BFA from Marymount Manhattan College and a MA degree in Dance Education, Teaching Dance in the Professions: The American Ballet Theater Pedagogy from New York University. Sindy is an American Ballet Theatre Certified Teacher. Sindy has served as the Associate Artistic Director at The Performing Arts Center of Connecticut, Program Director at the School at Peridance Center, Adjunct Ballet teacher at Sacred Heart University, ballet teacher for Summer Intensives at New York University, and a faculty member of The Ailey School.
