I cannot feel more grateful or prepared to navigate the professional world and use the skills I have learned.
“Not only did Marymount give me the opportunity to create lasting friendships, my professors and advisors have given me knowledge and inspiration to succeed as a student and as a young aspiring professional in a city as large and diverse as New York City.”
About
During my time at Marymount, I have achieved more than I ever thought possible. Without much direction, I started my college education without a clue of what my future would look like. Since then, I have had the opportunity to be part of several clubs, volunteer opportunities, and extracurricular activities including the Marymount Business Association, Peer Leaders, Emerging Leaders, and the Leadership Scholars program. Through the business department, I have been transformed with the way I view advertising and media. Learning in and out of the classroom has helped guide me through different job opportunities and internships.
With my business major and both minors in Political Science and Politics & Human Rights, I completed an internship with Women for Progress, a progressive organization based in New Jersey that aims to advocate for a wide range of issues through community and education. Through this, I was able to use the knowledge I obtained from both the Business and Social Sciences departments to fulfill my administrative duties and do social advocacy work.
Coming from a very small town in Northern New Jersey, Marymount instilled a sense of a small, but strong community that I felt comfortable in.
There is a bittersweet feeling as I wrap up my time at Marymount, though I cannot feel more grateful or prepared to navigate the professional world and use the skills I have learned.
