“I had a blast during my time at MMC. I still have some great friendships with my peers as well as my teachers, whom I owe a lot to because of how helpful they were in supporting my goals. I may be a technical consultant, but a lot of my work requires business knowledge that I am only able to apply thanks to the rigorous preparation MMC’s curriculum gave me. Being in New York and having access to so many networking opportunities was also critical for me to easily meet new people and learn new things.”
Majoring in Business with a concentration in Economics, Sanjit Varma was always fascinated by how social sciences could be blended with mathematics to deliver meaningful impact to the larger society. An omnipresent personality on campus, Sanjit’s infectious energy and affable personality made him a favorite among his peers as he served as President of the Investment Club during his time at MMC. Included on the Dean’s List every semester, Sanjit was not one to take his gifts for granted. At MMC, Sanjit spent every morning reading the newspaper at the library to keep up with the industry, and he identified the fast-growing technology sector as the most promising career path to pursue.
Having grown up in Singapore and India, Sanjit felt at home in the metropolitan landscape offered by New York City. Upon graduation he dreamt of getting his first job in Manhattan, but the COVID-19 outbreak changed the narrative that he so carefully planned out. During the pandemic, Sanjit opted for a change and moved to Houston, where he worked as SaaS consultant at Zoho Corporation. He leveraged his experience there and used his free time wisely to improve skills online that would eventually aid his career growth.
