Coleman Ray Clark is a theatermaker who focuses on directing and design. At Marymount, he sound-designed The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) at the Theater at St. Jean, and American Idiot, Fugitive Songs, and On the Town for the Musical Theater Association. As a co-creator, Coleman directed Papa (New Hazlett Theater), Prairie (Lincoln Center Education), and Blue Marble… (The What Co.). Recent directing includes Only Place I Belong (The Tank), Age, Sex, Location (Theater in Asylum), Amélie (Trevor Day School), Bare: A Pop Opera (St. John’s Lutheran), and All Shook Up (Fordham’s Mimes and Mummers). He is a long-time assistant director for Marymount alumn Timothy Douglas. Coleman is currently an artistic leader of The What Co., a theater collective that develops bold, collaborative work.
