Sydney Proctor’23

Class of 2023, Double major in Business (Media & Arts Management concentration) and Art History.

“My experience at Marymount Manhattan College has led to pleasant surprises which have helped me find my passion(s) and provided me with guidance as I plan my career. Through my Business degree with the media and arts management concentration, I have also learned more about non-profit work, which I have applied with my involvement at The Sherkow Center. I am so grateful to have experienced such supportive professors, who have now become my mentors beyond just the classroom. I am looking forward to what the future has in store, and while my anticipated graduation date is December 2023, I am really going to miss MMC.”

About

Sydney, a double major with Business (concentration: Media and Arts Management) and Art History, combines her love for business and art both inside and outside the classroom. While taking on two majors can no doubt be challenging, Sydney finds that her passion for learning has been more than fulfilled at Marymount Manhattan College. With support from her professors, Sydney has been offered a job/internship position working at Bonhams Auction House as a Preview Worker for the NY location. There, Sydney assists employees across all departments, including: fine art, jewelry, motoring, and more.

Among other things, Sydney has been a fashion model since she was 16 years old, taking a gap year after graduating high school before enrolling in Marymount Manhattan. Sydney enjoys traveling the world, and immersing herself in different cultures. This explains her special passion for Art History, and why she took it on as a second major at MMC, in addition to her initial business major. Sydney works with autistic kids, leading an after school program known as “Spark!” at the The Sherkow Center. Later in her career, Sydney plans to attend graduate school to become a licensed art therapist and establish her own practice, once again combining her love for both business and art.
