Jessie Hooker-Bailey is recently back in NYC from Chicago, where last summer, she performed in the world premiere of the Pre-Broadway production of The Devil Wears Prada musical. During preview performances of The Devil Wears Prada, Jessie was called on to perform the lead role of Andy Sachs for a full performance week with no rehearsal but her own, and with much success, helped carry the show through its remaining triumphant sold-out run. Broadway credits include: Grammy award winner Sara Bareilles’ hit Waitress, understudying the role of Dawn, and Tony Award winning Beautiful:The Carole King musical. Jessie has been residing in New York City as a working actress for over 10 years. Performing regionally as Sarah in Milwaukee Rep’s Ragtime, Savannah in the co-production of Disney’s Freaky Friday, Rusty in PCLO’s Footloose, and in national tours (Legally Blonde) before making her Broadway debut. She enjoys educating herself and others on social justice, spending time with her husband Gil and puppy Jade, and working as a teaching artist along with doing commercial and voiceover work. Jessie graduated from Shenandoah Conservatory with a BFA in musical theatre.
