Pi Day 2016
MMC celebrated Pi Day 2016 with the annual writing contest sponsored by the Department of Mathematics. Entrants submitted an original sentence, paragraph, poem or short story using the digits of π in order (3.14159265359…). Entries were judged by Profs. Wat, Ching, Margolin, and Meyers on cleverness, interest, and length. Monetary prizes ($100, $31.41, $3.14) were awarded to the best student entries.

In May 2014, junior Biology majors Marisa Dunigan and Katherine Ness traveled to the National Synchrotron Light Source at Brookhaven National Lab to conduct experiments in X-ray absorption spectroscopy with Prof. Leri.

Senior Biology majors Marisa Dunigan and Katherine Ness presented their research findings at the 17th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium in the Chemical and Biological Sciences at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC) on Saturday, October 25, 2014. Both students conduct research with Prof. Alessandra Leri at MMC.

On Thursday, April 15, 2021, Elijah Castro ’21, Shadé Eleazer ’22, and Elizabeth Scott ’22 were inducted into Chi Omega Lambda, the official honor society of the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Students in our Biology and Chemistry science labs this semester conduct experiments with remote “lab partners” in real time.
