Capital Projects Policy
- Capital Projects are any requests of funding for:
- Equipment
- Renovations
- Construction
- Maintenance requests should continue to be processed through Building Link.
Ways to Receive Funding:
- Divisional Operating Budget: Each division has a capital budget line to complete small projects within the Division.
- Funding for each Division’s budget line will be reevaluated every spring semester.
- College Capital Small Projects Budgets: These Board-approved budget lines assists with small capital projects around campus as well as emergencies.
- Projects that cannot be funded by Divisional budget lines can be completed with this funding.
- Projects ranging from $1,000 to $24,999.
- Projects will be completed over the course of the fiscal year and remaining projects will be in the queue for possible completion in the future.
- Board of Trustees Capital Project Budget: Large-scale capital projects may require Board of Trustees approval.
- All projects with costs above $25,000, two types:
- Improvement
- Deferred Maintenance
- Approval process requires planning to begin a year ahead of time. Ultimately, the President in consultation with the Cabinet will determine what projects are undertaken and in what order.
- Most unfulfilled requests will remain in the queue for possible completion in the future.

Methods of Request
- Divisional Operating Budget:
- Each division has an internal process to handle these requests.
- College Capital Small Projects Budgets:
- Complete form on the Finance and Administration webpage of College’s website. Requests are immediately forwarded to the Vice President for Divisional approval.
- The Vice President approves and prioritizes the project.
- The request is forwarded to the Business Office for processing.
- Decision making of which projects are completed throughout the year is made by the Vice President of Finance and Administration.
- Quarterly meetings with the College’s Cabinet will held to report on completed projects and projects planned for the future.
