F-1 students who have fallen out of status may qualify for reinstatement. Reinstatement is done through an application to USCIS. Below are circumstances where reinstatement may be granted.
- Could have qualified for a Reduced Course Load but was not authorized one
- Serious injury or illness
- Closure of the school you were attending
- Natural disaster
- Inadvertence, oversight or neglect by your International Student Advisor
