Whether you are returning to housing or are interested in living in the residence halls for the first time, we are excited that you are interested in living on campus for the academic year.
At Marymount Manhattan College, we want to welcome you to have a great on-campus experience filled with lots of fun events, opportunities to make new friends, and continue to live that New York City life and have a quick and easy commute to campus, while still being part of the greater MMC community. If you have not already done so, please check out our Housing Information page to see how MMC will be operating our residential learning program.
Applying for housing is easy! Just follow the following steps to secure your space in housing. If you have any questions throughout the process, please contact residencelife@mmm.edu so that we can assist you with your application.
Continuing Student Housing Applications submitted after April 21st will be considered on a rolling basis until we have filled allavailablespaces.
Apply for housing in 3 easy steps!
Submit the non-refundable $500 housing deposit via MMC CONNECT to secure a space in the residence halls. Deposits are due by April 21, 2023. Any deposits submitted after the deadline will be considered on a rolling basis. If you need assistance making your deposit, please contact The Center for Student Services.
After you have submitted your non-refundable deposit, you will log in to MMC RESIDENCE to submit a Returning Student Application, which will be available on your dashboard. Applications are due on April 21,2023. When you complete your housing application, you will be asked to fill out:
Your student profile, including any necessary information about yourself.
Complete any allergy or accommodation preferences. Remember that after you have completed your application, you must contact the Office of Disability Services to submit any accommodations you may need. Even if you have completed this process in previous years, you must renew any accommodations every academic year.
Complete the roommate matching survey. We encourage students to fill this out on their own so that we can make the best roommate matches.
Complete the necessary medical forms. If you need to submit immunization records, please contact the Counseling and Wellness Center.
*If you are under the age of 18 while filling out an application, you will need a parent/guardian to sign the application as well.
We will continue to place students on a rolling basis after the deadline if there is room available, however if you do not submit the application by the deadline, we cannot guarantee you a space in the residence hall or with a roommate group.
After you have submitted a non-refundable deposit and application, it will be reviewed by housing staff and you will receive an automated email letting you know that your application as been approved. Once approved, you can select a roommate group within MMC RESIDENCE. You will only be able to create groups with other people who have also been approved.
You will be able to create a roommate group until April 21, 2023.
Continuing Student Housing Selection will occur April 25-28, 2023. Roommate Groups can be created as early as March 27, 2023 for Continuing Students.
You can create a roommate group the following ways:
Share your roommate code with other students you are interested in living with. You can send an invitation to them (similar to social media) where they can accept or deny being in your roommate group.
Search for an ideal roommate! You will be able to browse other people’s profiles to find a good match. This will show their preferences, and you can invite each other to room together.
If you don’t select a roommate group, The Office of Residence Life will pair you with other individuals based off of ideal matches from your roommate matching survey.
Please keep in mind that your roommate group size does not guarantee you an apartment of that size. You will be able to create a roommate group between 2 and 7 people. Since we have a limited number of larger capacity rooms, we may contact you that we cannot accommodate a roommate group of your size. Room and bed assignments are generated randomly, and while we do our best to match you with your roommate group, we cannot guarantee roommate matches.
Your application is not complete until you finish all the steps. Students are placed in housing on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend completing all of the necessary steps right away once you’ve made the decision to live with us.
A rolling basis means that we will consider accepting applications until we have filled all available bed spaces. Both the deposit and application must be submitted for the application to be accepted.
Waitlist Information
With a high demand for on campus housing this year, we have created a waitlist. We are accepting applications and deposits for students to be put on a waitlist for on campus housing. The waitlist will be on a first come first served basis. This means that the sooner a student submits their housing application through MMC Residence and the non-refundable housing deposit through MMC Connect, the higher on the waitlist the student will be. Once the application is approved, the student will be notified of their waitlist status. Students should expect to hear from Residence Life in regard to on campus placement from the waitlist at the end of July 2023.
If you are put on the waitlist for housing, we are working on finding an available space. Once we have an available space, we will offer housing to the top student on the waitlist. The sooner you apply and submit your housing deposit, the higher on the waitlist you will be.
No. Applications are not accepted until both the MMC Residence application is completed,
and
the non-refundable deposit is made in MMC Connect. Both the application and deposit needed to be submitted by April 21
st
for guaranteed housing.
The waitlist is a first come, first served basis. This means that the earlier a student submits their housing application and housing deposit, the higher they will be on the waitlist. When a bed space becomes available matching that student’s gender space preference, the student will be pulled off of the waitlist and placed into that space. Students can be placed into either of our residential spaces.
When students complete their housing application, they can select to either be in gender neutral housing or same gender housing. This is their gender space preference. When a bed space becomes available it will either be in a female only room, male only room, or gender-neutral room. We will pull the first student off of the waitlist that matches that space’s gender assignment.
Students who submit their application and non-refundable deposit first will be the highest on the waitlist. The sooner the application is approved, the higher on the waitlist you will be and the higher chance of receiving a space on campus you will have. It is difficult to predict what a student’s chances of receiving a space are, because there are many factors that determine space availability.
