The Senior Marshals are a select group of graduating seniors who serve as ambassadors for their graduating class. This group raises funds for the senior class gift - something they’d like to give back to the College - and plans several senior events throughout the academic year, including the 100 Nights Countdown Celebration in February. The role of Senior Marshal is a prestigious honor and responsibility, as they serve as their class representatives both during senior year and after graduation.
Apply to be a Senior Marshal for the Class of 2021 here!
From years past, Senior Marshals have coordinated fundraising efforts for a variety of class gifts, including:
- Laptops for the Student Affairs Laptop Loaner Program (Class of 2019)
- Smartphone and tablet charging stations in the Commons (Class of 2018)
- Updated couches and furniture in Nugent Hall (Class of 2016)
This year, the Senior Marshals are leading the charge to create a sustainability garden on the Loewre Family Terrace between Carson and Nugent Halls. Please consider donating to help make this a reality!
From new students to alumni, all Griffins can help make a difference for those who follow in future generations. If you’ve received any form of financial assistance from MMC, enjoyed time in the common spaces, or taken advantage of on-campus technology or facilities, chances are you have benefited from the gifts of others. Major/Minor: Theater, Directing, Business and Media Arts
As a transfer student, I can attest that Marymount is the most accepting and diverse environment I have found myself in. MMC encourages students to be not just themselves but their BEST selves. I have made the most of my years here and now it’s time to give back.
Major/Minor: International Studies, Politics and Human Rights; Minors in Law and Ethics
Marymount Manhattan College has truly shown me that life is what you make of it. I’ve learned to take advantage of as many opportunities as possible, involved myself in so many different programs and events, organized and run various events and clubs, etc. The support from my department and professors truly strengthened my involvement on campus and drove me to be as successful as possible. Without the support of my professors, I would not be where I am today.
Major/Minor: Biology; Minors in Business Management
What I love most about being an MMC student is the individualized education and connections with the professors that I have gained. Now as a Senior, I’d like to give that back by leading my class as a Senior Marshal.
Major/Minor: BA Theater and Media; minor in Digital Journalism
I have met some of my best friends here at Marymount through being a student leader. They helped me grow in more ways than one and so I want to be able to give back to them in thanks by being a Senior Marshal and helping the students here experience as much as possible before graduation in May.
Major/Minor: BFA Acting; Minor in Drama Therapy
Without the slightest doubt, becoming a part of the MMC community is one of the best decisions I have ever made. As a Senior Marshal, I hope to make everyone’s voices be heard and advocate for the Class of 2020!
Major/Minor: BA in Business; Minor in Studio Art
What I love most about being a student at Marymount is being able to create many relationships with people. As a Senior Marshal, I look forward to spreading the word about our upcoming events and graduation requirements.
Major/Minor: BA in Psychology and Public Health
Over the past three years at Marymount, I have had many incredible opportunities to grow academically, professionally, and personally and being a Senior Marshal is the most fantastic way to culminate my journey.
Major/Minor: BA in Public Relations; Minors in Business and Fashion Marketing
Being a Senior Marshal is one of the greatest opportunities for the Class of 2020 to leave a legacy behind. As a transfer student, the fact that I was able to immediately immerse myself inside the culture here at MMC led me to be a leader in many of the clubs and organizations Marymount has to offer. With all that I’ve given, why not give a little more?
