Marymount Manhattan College, on New York’s Upper East Side, seeks an inspiring and innovative leader to serve as the College’s Vice President for Enrollment Management, a re-established position. MMC provides an exceptional opportunity for a new VPEM to partner with the campus community to advance the College mission-to foster intellectual achievement and personal growth, provide opportunities for career development, and promote participation in and improvement of society.
Established in 1936, MMC is an independent, coeducational, nonsectarian college that combines liberal arts education with professional preparation and social engagement in a global capital. With historic strengths in arts and sciences, robust programs in performing arts, and growing programs in business and in communication and media arts, MMC serves approximately 1,850 full-time students, 40% of whom live in the College’s residence halls. MMC has seen steady enrollment growth since fall 2014. MMC’s distinguished faculty and dedicated staff are committed first and foremost to student learning and success. The arrival of a new president two years ago has re-energized the MMC community, which recently collaborated on a new strategic plan in which student learning and success, the student experience, and institutional differentiation are paramount. A new signature college-to-career initiative called CityEdge deeply immerses students in New York’s vibrant learning and career landscape while distinguishing MMC as a small college at the intersection of a high-quality liberal arts education and professional preparation in the heart of a world-class city.
As Chief Enrollment Officer, the VPEM will oversee the Office of Admission and the Center for Student Services, which includes financial aid, registration, and student accounts, and will provide collaborative leadership on retention efforts and enrollment marketing. MMC seeks candidates with proven strengths in strategic enrollment planning, enrollment marketing, research-based decision-making, and college-wide implementation of effective strategies for recruitment, retention, and enrollment management. The successful candidate will be a highly collaborative leader who will be able to work exceptionally well with colleagues on new and existing initiatives aimed at providing a distinctive, high-quality educational experience; promoting persistence, completion, and strong alumni outcomes; and creating and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan. A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in enrollment management and/or related areas is required, as is a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree strongly preferred).
