MMC’s Summer Academy offers a wide range of week-long intensive pre-college programs for high school students, designed both to introduce students to the college environment and challenge them academically, and to offer a glimpse into the boundless opportunity of a college career in the world’s greatest city.
The Summer Academy Intensive Programs are tailored toward rising high school juniors and seniors and are open to any high school student who will be 16 years of age on or before July 1, 2020. Spend a summer with MMC!
After careful monitoring of the situation in New York City regarding COVID-19 and in the interest of your safety, the College has determined that our Summer Academy will be held virtually this year. The Musical Theatre Intensive will offer a virtual two-week program. The United Nations and Film NYC intensives will be offered as half-day virtual workshops for qualified applicants.
Enjoy the unique opportunity to engage with the United Nations (UN), learning directly from officials of UN Programs, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) accredited to the United Nations and Permanent Missions of Member States.
Take classes and workshops held both at UN organizations and on the MMC campus, just 30 blocks from the UN. During this week-long intensive, you’ll gain valuable experience and further your knowledge of issues relating to international affairs, development, the environment, women’s empowerment, and peace and security issues.
This program is also open to entering first-year MMC students who graduated high school in 2020 and will be no older than 18 during the program.
Where better to study musical theatre than the home of Broadway? Take part in the MMC Summer Academy’s two-week Musical Theatre Intensive for the opportunity to hone your skills in the heart of New York City.
Receive training in dance, voice, and acting, in addition to preparation for college auditions and access to Broadway shows. You will focus on the fundamentals and process of your craft and have the opportunity to share your work with friends and family at the end of the program.
Are you a budding filmmaker or cinematographer who loves New York City? Fascinated by video and want to learn more? Take part in the MMC Summer Academy’s week-long Film NYC Intensive, where you will storyboard, film, and edit your own tribute to the “city that never sleeps.”
Taught by MMC’s own professors of Digital Media and Video Production, this pre-college program gives you the chance to create your own short film and experience the city like never before.
The program is also open to entering first-year MMC students who graduated high school in 2020 and will be no older than 18 during the program.
